FEATURED QUESTION

How should I store my medication?

It is important to correctly store your medication. This helps keep it safe and work the way it is intended to.

Here are some common ways to store each kind of medication:

  • Pills and Capsules: Store these in a cool and dry place. Heat and humidity can damage them.
  • Liquid Medication: Some liquid medications need to be kept in a fridge. While others are safe to store at room temperature. Always check how it should be stored with your pharmacist.
  • Injectable Medication: Many injectable medications are sensitive to temperature. This means it needs to be kept in a fridge. Others can stay at room temperature.

Medication that needs to be stored in a fridge should be stored between 36° F and 46° F. Do not put it in the freezer. Freezing it can damage the medication and make it unsafe to take.

You should always read your medication labels for the storage requirements.
